Regrettably NZ has now identified we have imported further cases of Covid-19. This is disappointing, and somewhat concerning for us out in the residential care sector, and we remain focused on ensuring we continue to do everything we can to prevent the virus from entering our home.
As we head into the weekend, and visiting to the home will undoubtedly ramp up, I thought it important to reiterate the importance of ensuring visitors to the home are well, use the front entrance to enter, wash their hands upon entering and complete the visitors register. If you have travelled via plane in the last 14 days we also request that you provide those details to staff for contact tracing purposes.
We will continue to observe and monitor the situation nationally, globally and especially internally.
We are continuing to take a cautious approach with regards to managing the risk COVID-19 presents to our residents and direct care staff, and we encourage you to keep on “playing it safe” also.
I wish to thank, every member of our community for all of the additional attention you and practises which you are all undertaking when you visit the home and are out there in the community. We are definitely not out of the woods yet.
If you do develop any symptoms of COVID-19 (have a cough, and/or a high temperature, any shortness of breath, a sore throat, are sneezing or have runny nose, or suffer from a temporary loss of smell) you should stay home and call Healthline on 0800 358 5453 or contact your doctor immediately.
Finally, it is great to see all our families, visitors, children, volunteers and fur babies visiting again.
Please keep an eye on this page for further updates.
Take care out there,
