Whilst our mission is the provision of healthcare to veterans and the ex-service community, eligibility for admission to Rannerdale is not restricted to this group. We also welcome all men and women who meet the District Health Board’s eligibility criteria.

All persons entering aged residential care in New Zealand must first be assessed by a District Health Board Older Persons Health Needs Assessor to be eligible. Your General Practitioner will be able to assist you with this process.

Further information on long term residential care is available from the Ministry of Health publication “Long Term Residential Care for Older people: What you need to know”.

A copy of this publication can be downloaded from the publications section of the Ministry of Health website at www.health.govt.nz

Prospective residents who are unsure of whether or not they qualify for government funding should discuss this with our General Manager or Clinical Nurse Manager. Applications for funding are the responsibility of the resident and their family but we are happy to give advice on this process if you would like assistance.

We welcome applications for residency at Rannerdale and would be pleased to meet with you to discuss your requirements.
