Depending on their individual circumstances, residents may qualify for funding from Work and Income New Zealand. Prospective residents who are unsure of whether or not they qualify for funding should discuss this with the General Manager.
* Full board and lodging. This includes personal laundry services (except dry cleaning), general laundry services, cleaning services and supplies, and all meals and beverages including morning and afternoon tea and supper.
* Furniture, furnishings and fittings.
* Standard toothpaste, shampoo and soap. Residents with individual preferences may be asked to pay any extra costs associated with their preferred products.
* All wound management and continence supplies, unless the resident prefers products other than those supplied by the Home in which case any additional cost may be passed on to the resident.
The following inclusions refer to funded residents only (please note that private paying residents are required to pay for the costs of these services).
* General Practitioner's Charges. Note that residents who retain their own doctor may be asked to pay any extra amount where their doctor's charges exceed those charged by the Home's General Practitioner.
* The cost of allied health services (physiotherapist, occupational therapist, podiatrist, etc.) when referred to these services by the General Practitioner.
* Medication charges for medications prescribed by the General Practitioner.
* Where residents have medical/dental appointments, family members can be asked to provide transport. However, if this is not possible, transport will be provided by the Home.
* Ambulance fees for non-ACC ambulance transport.
* Personal requests for transport can be arranged for a fixed fee at the residents expense.
* Some activities fees. For example, an outing to a specific attraction may incur an entry fee to be paid by the resident.
* None of the following services are included in the rest home / hospital fee; optical services, audiology services, dental services, legal and financial services, hairdressing services, dry cleaning, and individualised equipment.
* All new residents (or their representative) are required to sign an ‘Agreement to Provide Residential Care’ prior to or at the time of admission. This agreement sets out the terms and conditions for the provision of residential care at Rannerdale Hospital and Home. Separate agreements are signed by private paying residents and subsidised residents respectively. A copy of the agreement for private paying residents is included in this information pack.
* Residents entering the facility for permanent care will be charged at the private payer fee rate as shown in the fees schedule above until confirmation is received by the Home that the resident is subsidised. If a government subsidy is approved and paid by the government backdated to the time of admission, a refund will be paid to the resident’s account. Residents entering the Home and applying for and aged care subsidy can request in writing to WINZ to have their regular national superannuation paid to the Home automatically until a subsidy is approved.
* It is now a standard requirement by Rannerdale Veterans Home Limited that all signed agreements to provide Residential Care Services at Rannerdale Veterans Hospital and Home include the name and signature of a guarantor.
* By signing as a guarantor the family member or agent is providing a guarantee to the company that in the event of a resident for any reason not being able to settle any outstanding account payable to the Home, the person acting as guarantor is responsible for payment of the outstanding account.
* If a new resident is unable to obtain a guarantor or a family member or agent is not prepared to act as guarantor a $3000 refundable bond will be required at the time of admission.
* Residents are invoiced one month in advance. All invoices are to be paid within seven days of receipt.
