Of the 65 residents at Rannerdale, 20 are in our rest home and 45 are in our long-term care hospital. All residents have their own rooms.
Rannerdale has a range of aged care and rest home accommodation options in Christchurch. All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and drawers and are furnished with a hospital bed, bedside cabinet and a chair. A nurse call button is located next to each bed. Residents who wish to are free to personalise their rooms in liaison with the Clinical Nurse Manager.
Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day as a part of a team of dedicated and well trained multi-disciplinary staff committed to caring for the health and well being of our residents. Staff at Rannerdale are supported by a full range of health professionals:
- Rannerdale has its own medical practitioner who holds twice-weekly clinics and is available on-call as required, although residents coming into Rannerdale are free to retain their own doctor if they wish
- A physiotherapist visits weekly to help those residents with mobility difficulties retain and, where possible, improve their mobility and independence. A fully equipped rehabilitation gym is also available. Our physiotherapist assistant also assists the physiotherapist and assists in the gym.
- A Registered Occupational Therapist provides professional functional input to residents care and manages a team of activity therapists
- A podiatry clinic is available for residents and is held monthly. A hairdresser visits Rannerdale every 3 weeks.
